On Saturday, January 25, 2014 St. Francis Food Pantries and Shelters sponsored an "Annual Dinner for the Needy" held in Manhattan at The Church of St. John the Baptist.

Over 400 guests were hosted by 30 volunteers who served them food in formal "restaurant style" according to their numbered tables. The delectable meal featured a menu of penne pasta with meatballs, herb spiced chicken with vegetable rice, salad, rolls, coffee, tea, cake and cookies.

These clients, who are homeless and/or otherwise in need of a helping hand, could also select a new or gently used coat from an assortment of donations. Cold weather accessories such as hats, gloves and scarves were also distributed to help brave the frigid NYC weather this winter. The children in attendance also received toys, much to their delight and surprise!

These donations were all made possible by recent winter coat and toy drives that many of our corporate and individual supporters contributed to.
