On Saturday, August 22, 2018 we held our Annual "Back 2 School" Picnic on a beautiful and sunny day. Presented by Macy’s, the outing took place at Orchard Beach in the Pelham neighborhood of the Bronx. Attendees included children and grandparents from G.A.P. (Grandparent's Advocacy Project) a Bronx-based group that we provide support to. Kathy Gibson, founder of G.A.P. was also on-hand.

Children ranging from age 4-16 years old enjoyed face painting, baseball, football, arts and crafts, board games, jump rope, and much more! Our nature-inspired "scavenger hunt" continued to be a hit, as eager participants sought out a dozen items hidden throughout the picnic area…The best part? Everyone who played was a winner and received a medal.

After working up an appetite guests enjoyed a delicious lunch menu (catered by A World of Food) that consisted of: hot dogs, hamburgers, French fries, BBQ chicken, sausage with peppers, corn on the cob, macaroni and potato salad, baked beans, tossed salad, fresh fruit, brownies and cookies.

At the end of the day, backpacks filled with school supplies were given out to all the children to ensure they are prepared for the new 2018-19 school year. Thank you to our School Supplies Sponsors: ConEd and Disney.

The picnic brings together friends new and old. Food is in abundance!

Families take the day off for rest, relaxation and company. Smiles and good times are also in abundance.

Nothing to fear, the food is good!
Jump rope burns off the those luncheon calories.
The days ends with the backpack give-away.
