On Thursday November 2, 2017, St. Francis Food Pantries and Shelters held its 18th Annual "Doodle for Hunger®" 2017 Celebrity Art Auction and Gala at Pier Sixty, Chelsea Piers.

A great amount of colorful and original signed works of art, or as we like to call them "Doodles," created by actors, artists, sports icons, celebrities, politicians and more were auctioned off for charity. We also used the special occasion to promote and drive even more participation in our annual Turkey Drive. We had an ambitious goal this year, and Doodle for Hunger guests and participants are always up for a challenge…and a good cause!

The presenting sponsors of the evening were Margo and John Catsimatidis, who welcomed actor/entertainer Joseph Piscopo as the guest of honor. Tony Orlando, musical icon ("Tie a Yellow Ribbon Round the Ol' Oak Tree") thrilled the crowd with his classic hits.

Hosted by Ernie Anastos, news anchor of Fox 5 NY, this high-profile and highly anticipated event included a cocktail party with buffet, "Doodle" preview and auctions, led by professional auctioneer Amy Papola and actor Tony Lo Bianco.

The evening was attended by hundreds of guests who helped raise crucial funds – as well as dozens of birds for our Turkey Drive – to benefit the clients who depend on us. Thank you to everyone who contributed to another amazing event!

Artwork from Broadway actors and actresses was auctioned off along with tickets to see their show. This year's event was well attended.
