Macy's Easter Candy

Macy's Easter Candy

Macy’s Kathy Hilt, building manager of Macy’s Herald Square store, recently donated 500 pounds (!) of unsold chocolate Easter bunnies and other Easter candy that was distributed throughout the St. Francis network of pantries. Because of the coronavirus, the stores were closed, and the candy was not going to be sold…so they gave it to St Francis!

We love packing boxes with candy around the holidays, because we know it goes to children who probably didn't get any Easter candy. And while it’s essential to provide hungry families and children with good, nutritious food – which we do plenty of – it’s also important to put a smile on a child’s face with a treat most kids take for granted around Easter time.

And a special thank you to Macy’s, a great and reliable partner whose corporate generosity seems to know no bounds.
