Our mission at St Francis Food Pantries and Shelters is to provide food and service programs for the poor and needy throughout the NYC area, we also take a comprehensive approach to help address some of the structural causes of hunger as well. Sometimes that means alleviating emotional hunger as well – providing fun activities for kids of all ages. Food for the soul, if you will.

Before the hectic pace of the holidays arrived, Con Edison employees planned something special for our young clients, and spent their afternoon hosting a Children's Arts & Crafts Party at St. John the Baptist Church in Manhattan.

On the docket? An afternoon of fun. After enjoying a delicious meal, our young attendees had the opportunity to enjoy various arts and crafts projects. There were a variety of different activities to choose from, all with the help of friendly ConEd volunteers. More than a hundred children and their guardians attended the event.

Our friend "Magic Dave" the magician made his rounds throughout the room, wowing youngsters (and adults, alike) with his tricks and treats! Children were also able to have their faces painted as a whimsical reminder of the fun afternoon.

Thank you to Con Edison volunteers who spent the day welcoming guests, serving food, providing guidance, painting faces and ensuring that a good day was had by all!
