Every Spring, Macy's employees take a stand against hunger during their annual Bag Hunger campaign. As part of this nationwide effort, they join forces with St. Francis to make PB&J sandwiches for our network of food pantries. This year, for their 21st Annual Macy's Bag Hunger Campaign, 1,047 volunteers – including Tara Troy, Kimberly Nicolich, Christine Grasser, Julio Bolivar and Sarah Rattan – made 30,900 peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. These sandwiches are then distributed throughout our network of over 40 food pantry and soup kitchen locations.
Not bad for something that originally launched in 1998 as a rather modest employee can drive…
We’re proud of the enduring relationship we have with Macy’s, their ongoing commitment and their belief that "volunteering is always in fashion." It’s an honor to have Macy's support of the work that we do – support that goes far beyond just monetary contributions.
