With the arrival of a brand-new school year comes the need for backpacks and school supplies for students around the NYC area. Many of the families who rely on the services of our food pantry and shelter locations include senior citizens and children. Unfortunately, these households live in a constant state of toeing the poverty line, so any additional financial demand - such as back to school expenses - can be felt.

Our organization supports over 40 different food pantries and shelters throughout the New York City-area. As you might imagine, this is no small task and takes the commitment of supporters, old and new.

Ross Stores Inc. is one of our fantastic corporate supporters that make regular, monthly donations to us in the form of overstock clothing and household items. We then distribute these unused products throughout our network of locations. This season, we are incredibly thankful to receive boxes filled with Ross Stores' in-kind donations for back to school.

While we may purchase new clothes, notebooks and backpacks with ease, not having to pay for them means the world to clients doing their best to make ends meet. These donations go a long way.
