Thanksgiving In February

It is in the bleakest moments that St. Francis Food Pantries & Shelters shine the brightest.

Every November New York is abundant with Thanksgiving meals for the poor served in many locations across town. Unfortunately, with the passing of the holidays many New Yorkers refocus their energy to their personal lives and forget about the needs of the less fortunate.

"Thanksgiving in February" hosts and serves over 900 clients from our Food Pantries, Soup Kitchens and Shelters every year to a sit down Thanksgiving dinner with all the trimmings long after the holidays when the poor are forgotten and the winter shuts in many seniors and children.

Face painters, magicians, entertainers, along with Celebrity and Corporate Volunteers join the guests to lift the spirit as the body is strengthened with nourishment and comfort.

Our volunteers reignite the holiday spirit in themselves as they serve their neighbors in need.
