While New York City can be a veritable playground for its wealthy citizens and guests, for many of the households that we provide support, making ends meet is a constant concern. With this constant concern in mind, it can often be pretty hard to focus on leisure activities. Everything costs so much these days, when you’re poor, your entertainment options are becoming increasingly hard to afford.

For three consecutive Fridays in August – Aug 10, Aug 17 and Aug 24 – St Francis provided tickets to NY Yankees baseball games to our clients from the HelpUSA organization. HelpUSA assists youth, families and veterans that are dealing with domestic violence and homelessness. The organization builds homes for people in need, and they provide shelter and aid to people in crisis.

HelpUSA’s Olga Martinez – who is always appreciative of the ongoing services St Francis provides, from PB+J sandwiches and turkeys for Thanksgiving to clothing, household goods, and toys for holidays – was grateful for the chance to offer her clients a chance to experience America’s pastime in one of the greatest sports cities in the world!

Yankee Stadium is a mystery to those that cannot afford a game ticket. A new stadium that is open and spacious for visitors.

Gone are the days of tearing ticket stubs. A team rich in history must include a museum.

The stadium allows for views of the game from all over.
The families that visited the games were very thankful .
