Food For Thought
It’s been a hot summer, weather-wise…but it’s also been a hot season of fundraising activities to benefit the work of St. Francis Food Pantries and Shelters. Some of biggest events happen in the summer, including: In addition to these big, annual fundraising events, we are – as always – active at the community level as well. Here’s a sampling of how we’ve kept busy this summer…

The Elizabeth Coalition works with individuals and families to address gaps and help solve some of the underlying causes of homelessness. St. Francis Food Pantries provides canned food, PB+J sandwiches, winter coats, household goods and diapers to the Elizabeth Coalition to help their clients make ends meet. It’s a partnership we’re very proud of.

On May 9th, the Bronx Borough President celebrated seniors at a special luncheon for centenarians (95-100 years old) as part of its annual Bronx Week celebration. The event was held at the Villa Barone Manor and 3 GAP members were honored.
