Food For Thought
August is here already and we're just wondering: where has the time gone?

Our Twelfth Annual Women of Valor Awards Tea 2014 took place on Thursday, July 31 2014 at the Waldorf-Astoria. The special event, hosted by Macy's, honored a group of women who are leaders in business and in giving back to their communities. Over 750 guests attended the afternoon making it one of our most successful Teas thus far!

Recently, we had the privilege of sponsoring a belated Mother's Day Luncheon on behalf of the Grandmothers and Caregivers of the Grandmother's Advocacy Project (GAP), a group that we support. A beautiful Italian restaurant provided the perfect setting to enjoy a delicious meal and fellowship during an afternoon of appreciation.

Few things are more fun than spending an afternoon at the Theater! We had the opportunity to sponsor two performances of Seussical Jr. acted out by the brilliant student performers of CYT NYC! Our two groups had such a blast at the shows and received fun souvenirs to match their smiles when the day was over!

Sometimes it is easy to forget how fortunate we are, but reminders keep it all in perspective. The Rye Boy Scout Troop 2 recently worked on a project that involved packing hundreds of personal care/hygiene kits. These kits contained everything from soap to toothpaste and were distributed to those in need. Read more about how these awesome Boy Scouts paid it forward!

We have also been busy with our Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich-Making Days - our single most popular Employee Volunteer program. Over the past few months we have had the chance to partner with companies that are corporate leaders and understand the value of giving back.
